Sam Maldonado begins his fourth season as a member of the Tiger basketball coaching staff.  Maldonado served his first two years as a student assistant before transitioning to a graduate assistant coach. 

Sam will serve as the Head Coach of the developmental/JV team and assist the Varsity program.  Coach Romero says “Sam has been a huge part of our success the last few years, he is very loyal, works incredibly hard for the program, and has a heart to lead and coach. I am very thankful we were able to retain him as a leader in our program.”

Maldonado originally from Hutchinson, KS earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Central Christian College of KS in 2018.  Sam and his wife Janessa (c’18) reside in McPherson, KS.  Janessa his an elementary teacher in the McPherson community.
