Central Christian College of Kansas

Coach Herrera starts his third year at Central Christian where he serves as an assistant varsity coach for the Tigers Men's Basketball team.  Before starting at Central Herrera was the Head Men’s basketball Coach at Nickerson High School for two years where he led them to their first sub-state victory in 10 years.  Coach Herrera was also the lead assistant and head of recruiting at Bethel college.   He was also an assistant coach at Kansas Wesleyan University.  Prior to KWU Coach Herrera was the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Russell High School from 2008-2010.  While there, he led the Broncos to their first winning season in over 30 years.  Prior to Russell, Herrera had coaching stints at Wichita North, North Kansas City, MO, Newton and McPherson.  He also served as a student assistant at McPherson College for the 1997-1998 season.

Herrera, a native of San Antonio, TX, graduated from South San High School in 1993, and continued on to Bethel College for two years where he played basketball under Mark Yoder.  He then transferred to McPherson College, playing for the Bulldogs and Coach Roger Trimmell.  Herrera earned his bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1998.

Herrera currently resides in McPherson with his wife, Andrea and 3 daughters, Sophia, Adalyn and Eleanor.
