Cole Ouren

Ouren becomes the 10th head coach in program history and his set to begin his first season this fall. He is no stranger to Central or the McPherson community. Ouren was a four year starter at Central from 2003-2007. As a player he would garner MCAC All-Conference and NCCAA honors and help guide the 2004 and 2006 teams to the MCAC conference tournament and the 2005 team to the NCCAA Regional Tournament. Both were firsts for the program as a member of the NCCAA and NAIA. Ouren would later lead the Men’s program, after serving as an assistant for Dr. Leonard Favara, for two years going 24-13-2 from 2010-2011 and making consecutive trips to the NCCAA Regional semi-finals. He would also serve as a Director of Coaching for the McPherson Strikers in addition to leading coaching clinics and camps for the McPherson community.

Ouren comes back to McPherson after serving as a Director of Coaching at Pride Soccer Club in Colorado Springs for the past eight years, most recently as the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL)/High School Boys Director and College Advisor. While at Pride, Ouren was also a head coach for United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Development Academy (DA), Pride U23 Women’s teams in addition to being on staff for several Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) State and Presidents Cup championship teams and United States Youth Soccer (USYS) Region IV teams from Pride.  In addition to his duties at Pride, Ouren was an assistant coach for the Colorado Olympic Development (ODP) teams, Region IV ODP staff coach and volunteer assistant at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs the previous two seasons. During this time, he was a part of a program that made consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II National Tournament and a number 1 National Ranking, first time in program history.

Ouren earned a Masters of Education, Sports Management and Leadership from Northcentral University in 2011 and his bachelor’s degree from Central Christian College of Kansas, majoring in Social Science with a minor in Youth Ministry. He holds his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “B” License and United Soccer Coaches (USC) Advanced National Diploma.

He is married to Sarah Ouren (c. ’09) and they have three children, Wyatt (6), Annie (4) and Hattie (3).
