Guy Gardner

Guy Gardner is no stranger to Central Christian College. Gardner, played at Central Christian College from 2001-2006, where he was known for his prolific outside shooting and perimeter defense.  When knee injuries derailed his career during his junior season, Gardner found ways to contribute to the team from the sidelines. He eventually returned to finish his career during the 2005-2006.

Originally from Golden City, MO, Gardner was a standout basketball and baseball player. He received both a basketball and baseball scholarship to CCC, but ultimately only played basketball.  Gardner graduated from Central Christian College in 2006 and immediately accepted a position at Little River High School as an Assistant Coach. He served one season there before taking the Head Coaching job at Elyria Christian School in 2007.  In the fall of 2012, Gardner accepted a position at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS where was able to learn from NAIA Hall of Fame Coach, Rocky Lamar. During Coach Gardner’s time at MNU, the Pioneers made it to the NAIA Division 1 Elite 8; Gardner was also in charge of the JV program.  He also has coached at Blue Valley Southwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas.

Gardner has also worked at Don Eddy Basketball, Heart of America Sports Camps, Fundamentally Driven Basketball and Snow Valley Basketball School and with MOKAN Basketball Club.

Coach Romero says “Guy adds a wealth of experience, a balancing demeanor and change of pace to our program.  Guy has a passion to recruit and develop young men.”  Coach Gardner will serve as the director of opponent scouting and director of recruiting.

Gardner and his wife Jayme (c’04) are Resident Directors of Gillespie Hall at CCC. Jayme teaches Junior High English and coaches Volleyball at Elyria Christian School. They have two sons, Mason (9) and Axel (3).
