Louis Collins is a Central Alum going into his fourth year as an assistant and head junior varsity coach. He also heads up recruiting operations as he is also a full time employee at the college working in the admissions office as an Enrollment Advisor. He is a native of Los Angeles, California but decided to claim residency in McPherson Kansas after his days of serving as a student on Central's campus. Collins was a four year varsity athlete as a basketball player while at Central. During his senior year he became Central's all-time leader in steals, he also broke the record for free throws made which was broken by a player he later coached. In that same year he was also the Howard Krober Male athlete of the year and received the Marvin Sellberg basketball most valuable player award. Louis graduated in 2008 with a degree in Psychology then served as a graduate assistant in the Student development office as he attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Waxahachie, TX) for his master's. He recently completed his M.A. degree in Children and Family Ministry (concentrations in Family Leadership and Spiritual formation of adolescents) along with receiving his Minister's license in September ?11 as a member of Greater Pentecostal C.O.G.I.C. in Wichita, KS. He plans to start doctoral work in Sociology during the spring at Kansas State University. Louis enjoys coaching on a faith based campus where he can influence men to excel not only on the court but also in a holistic way in all facets of life. He is dedicated to the central institution and the various teams in which he works with on campus. "My desire is to motivate students to discern God's plan for their lives; and no matter what their social status, past, or existential plight may be to let them know that Central Christian College is a place you can come as you are but you won't stay as you are. I believe experiences without growth is worthless and CCC offers learning experiences that changes lives."
