Tigers Fall to Texas Wesleyan to Cap Off 2025-2026 Season

McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas Women's Basketball team finished off their regular season with a loss to Texas Wesleyan University.

Both teams came out firing on Saturday as the Rams found themselves up 21-14 after one quarter after shooting 44% for the quarter including 50% from beyond the arc to help extend their lead. The Tigers responded by staying aggressive and getting to the free throw line to keep things manageable heading into the second quarter. 

The second quarter was the lowest scoring quarter of the contest as the Tigers outscored the Rams 8-7. This cut their deficit to 6 heading into halftime as they trailed 28-22.

Coming out of halftime, the Tigers were overwhelmed by a burst of offense from the Rams. By the end of the third quarter, the Rams lead grew to 11 points, 42-31.

Despite winning the turnover battle and an even foul count, the Tigers were unable to get themselves back in the game. They would get outrebounded 47-40 and ultimately fall to the Rams 51-41 to end their regular season. 

Rachael Ellis and Chloe Clevenger each had 9 points and led the team offensively. Cristina Laudan added 7 points and 3 blocks and Kylee Jones also had 7 points on the night.

After the game, 5 seniors were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the program. Those 5 seniors were Rachael Ellis, Kayla Hall, Christina Laudan, Jenny Johnson and Charmayne Marshall.

The Tigers finished the campaign with a 6-22 record overall and a 2-20 record in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
