McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas Men's Basketball team faced off against College of the Ozarks on Saturday with SAC tournament implications. The result of the game would vault either team into 8th place heading into the last week of the regular season.
The Tigers started out hot, shooting 50% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc. The Bobcats struggled in the first half, shooting just 32% and struggling to put solid possessions together. The Tigers found themselves with a 16 point halftime lead with intentions to grow that lead coming out of halftime.
Their lead grew to as big as 21 but the Bobcats surged back, captializing on Tiger turnovers and second chance points. The Bobcats cut the lead to just 6 but it was too little too late for them as the Tigers held them off to seal the win.
The Tigers would wind up overwhelming the Bobcats in route to a 87-79 win to set themselves up for a chance to go to the conference tournament here in a few weeks.
The Tigers move to 11-15 overall and 6-14 in conference play as they move up to 8th place in the SAC Standings with the final week of the regular season looming. The Tigers have two home games to finish the regular season, against Nelson and Texas Wesleyan. Thursday at 7:45pm they take on the Lions from Nelson University and on Saturday at 3:45pm they face Texas Wesleyan. Both games will be streamed on the Urban Edge Network and SAC Sports Network.
