Tigers Fall to Lions in Oklahoma

Coyle, Okla. - Central Christian College of Kansas endured a tough afternoon on the road as Langston University pulled away for a decisive 72-34 victory in Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball action.

The Tigers struggled to find offensive rhythm early and fell behind quickly, trailing 15-9 after the opening quarter. Langston continued to dominate through the second quarter, outscoring Central Christian 21-2 to take firm control of the contest heading into halftime. From there, the Lions maintained their advantage, cruising to a 38-point win.

Central Christian shot 22% from the field and 16% from beyond the arc, unable to convert consistently against Langston's pressure. The Tigers also battled turnovers and rebounding deficits that hindered scoring opportunities.

Despite the loss, a few individual efforts stood out for the Tigers. Charmayne Marshall led the Tigers with 11 points , going 4-for-9 from the field with a perfect 3-for-3 mark on three-pointers. Kylee Jones added seven points, and C'Niyah Willams chipped in four, but the offense overall couldn't keep pace.

The Tigers move to 5-9, 1-7 SAC on the season. They continue in SAC play on Thursday, January 8th as they travel to Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm. The game will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network.
