McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas cheer team is giving back to the community by hosting a shoe drive that will run through January 31st..
The initiative encourages students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to donate gently used or new shoes of all sizes. The shoes our team collects will help raise funds for CCCK Cheer and kept out of landfills! After that, they are repurposed to help support microenterprises in developing nations such as Haiti, Cambodia, and Ghana. The Cheer program has been blessed with hundreds of pairs donated already and more continuing to come in!
Members of the cheer team have taken an active role in organizing and promoting the drive, using the opportunity to serve others beyond the sidelines and competitions. The project reflects the program's commitment to leadership, service, and making a positive impact within the McPherson community.
Donations can be dropped off at the Admissions Office on campus throughout the duration of the drive. Those interested in supporting the effort are encouraged to contribute before the January 31st deadline.
For more information on how to donate or where to drop off shoes, please contact Gracie Kidd or Breanna Smith or the Athletic Department.
