McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas Men's Basketball team took on Southwestern Christian University Eagles last night as they tried to right the ship after back-to-back losses. The Tigers came out strong as they would leave no doubt in this one, taking it 79-66.
They found their stride early, jumping out to a 10-point lead halfway through the first half. The Eagles were unable to match the speed and intensity that the Tigers were coming at them with. The Tigers would take a nine point lead into halftime, 40-31.
Coming out of the break, Central picked up right where they left off as their lead continued to grow. It got as high as 21 points late in the second half.
The Tigers would continue to play solid defense along with smart basketball to win the game 79-66 and earn another SAC victory on the year.
The Tigers had multple 20+ point scorers as both Chris and
Jaeden Whitten combined for 20 made field goals.
Jaeden Whitten was a perfect 10-10 from the field and added seven rebounds.
Jevarrick Butler also contributed a double-double to the cause as he had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tigers (9-11, 4-10 SAC), now focus on their trip down to face Oklahoma City University on Saturday at 3:45pm. The game can be seen on the Urban Edge Network and the SAC Sports Network.
