Tigers Not Able to Overcome 2nd Half Effort from Wayland in Road Loss

Plainview, Texas. - The Tigers dropped an 82–69 decision to the Flying Queens on the road Thursday night, as Wayland Baptist used a strong offensive showing and home-court momentum to pull away in the 2nd half. The Tigers stayed competitive early, matching the Flying Queens in the opening quarter, but Wayland gradually built separation as the game progressed, capitalizing on efficient shooting and consistent scoring across all four quarters.

The Tigers continued to battle offensively, getting solid production from its key contributors. Charmayne Marshall led the Tigers with 18 points, Kylee Jones followed closely with 17, and Madyson George added 12 to round out a balanced scoring effort. Despite those performances, Wayland was able to stretch its lead during key stretches, particularly in the third quarter, where the Flying Queens created separation and forced the Tigers to play from behind.

The Tigers fought hard but drop to 5-14 on the season and 1-12 in conference play. They will look to bounce back at home on Thursday night against Southwestern Christian University. The game wil tipoff at 6pm and will be streamed on the SAC Sports Network and Urban Edge Network.
