Tigers Swept by Wayland Baptist in Plainview

Plainview, Texas - It was a challenging weekend on the road for the Central Christian College of Kansas baseball team, as they were swept in a three-game series against Wayland Baptist University.

The Tigers opened the series with a competitive effort in game one but ultimately fell short in a 7-4 loss. Despite showing signs of offensive life and keeping the game close for most of the contest, Wayland Baptist managed to hold off the Tigers down the stretch with timely hitting and solid relief pitching.

Game two saw the Tiger offense go quiet in an 8-0 shutout loss. Wayland Baptist's starting pitcher was dominant on the mound, keeping Central Christian hitters off balance all afternoon while their own offense slowly pulled away.

The series finale proved to be the toughest outing of the weekend for the Tigers, as they suffered a 20-3 defeat. Wayland Baptist jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, putting together multiple big innings to complete the sweep.

The Tigers (16-29, 7-19), look to regroup after a tough series and could potentially play one last game of the season, a makeup game against College of the Ozarks. Rain caused the series finale to get rained out. A rescheduled game could take place on Tuesday, April 22nd. Stay tuned to Central Athletics social media for updates!
