Tigers Drop Series to Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, Texas – The Tigers were back in action over the weekend as they traveled down to Fort Worth to face the Texas Wesleyan Rams in a three game series.

Game 1, L 0-5
Friday would feature the singular 9-inning game followed by a doubleheader of two seven inning games on Saturday. Nick Julian would get the start, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, walking two while striking out 6 across 6 2/3 innings. Matt Gorham would come on in relief and throw 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the Tigers. The offense was unable to get anything going as the Tigers had 7 hits but were unable to push any runs across.

Game 2, L 1-14
Saturday would see Robert White toe the rubber for the Tigers, and it was quiet for the first four innings with the Rams striking first for a run in the 3rd. The Rams would chase White out of the game with their 6 run 5th inning to take a decisive lead in the game. They would add on in the 6th inning to increase their lead to 14-0 after 6 innings. The Tigers would score their first run of the weekend to make it a 14-1 contest and this is where the first game would finish up. The Tigers would look to turn their fortune around in the final game of the series.

Game 3, L 2-6
The Tigers would throw Nick Clayson for the series finale and he would go 3 1/3 innings allowing just 3 runs on 4 hits and striking out two Rams. The Tigers got on the board in the 4th inning after a Braedon Ulrich homerun to cut the lead in half. The Rams responded with one of their own in the bottom of the same inning. The Rams would pull away after scoring 2 more in the 5th and another in the 6th. The Rams would take the game 6-2 and sweep the series.
