McPherson, Kan. - In the NCCAA Central Regional Semi-Final, the Central Christian Tigers were defeated by the College of the Ozarks Bobcats, 100-85. The loss ends the Tigers' season with a 16-14 record. The Bobcats will advance to the Regional Final Tuesday Night.
Chris Whitten delivered a season-high 35 points. His offensive explosion was the heart of the Tigers' attack, Travis King also had a career-defining performance, scoring 20 points off the bench, and doing so in flawless fashion—finishing 10-10 from the field. King's perfect shooting night was a huge boost for the Tigers, adding energy and efficiency when they needed it most.
However, the Tigers faced an uphill battle as the Bobcats shot an eye-popping 71% from the field and 78% from three-point range, taking a commanding 56-38 lead into halftime. Despite the hot shooting from the Bobcats, the Tigers continued to battle, with Whitten and King leading the charge, as the Tigers were able to Chip into the lead in the 2nd half, but it was not enough as the Tigers fell to the Bobcats in the Central Regional for the 2nd season in a row.
While the Bobcats' offense, led by Garret Snyder's 28 points (including a perfect 13-13 from the free-throw line) and Andrew Dalton's 22 points, and proved too much for Central Christian to overcome.
