Tigers Fall to Nelson at Home

Nelson University 80, Central Christian Tigers 66

The Central Christian Tigers fought hard but ultimately fell to the Nelson University Lions, 80-66, in a game marked by strong individual performances and a standout shooting effort from beyond the arc.

Key Performances: Game Summary:
  • The Tigers showcased excellent shooting, connecting on 16 three-pointers throughout the game, led by Chloe Clevenger, who made 6 of them. Despite the offensive output, the Tigers struggled with rebounding, being outrebounded 53-25, which was a key factor in the loss.
  • Nelson University led by as much as 14 points at one point, but the Tigers showed resilience, cutting the deficit to 65-60 in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, their efforts came up short as Nelson regained control late in the game.
  • The Tigers were able to force 23 turnovers from Nelson, while committing only 7 turnovers themselves, a strong defensive effort. However, despite the turnover advantage, the lack of rebounds and Nelson's ability to score in the paint, with 42 paint points were difficult to overcome.
  • For Nelson, Kate Miller and Wendy Clemmons both recorded double-doubles, contributing heavily to their team's victory.
  • With the loss, the Tigers now look ahead to their next game at home against University of North Texas-Dallas. The game is scheduled for Saturday at 2 PM, and it will be available to watch on the SAC Sports Network.
