Tigers Fall to MACU in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Central Christian's road trip Thursday night at Mid-America Christian proved to be a challenging one, as the Central Christian College of Kansas Tigers fell 86–57.

After a promising start — the Tigers scored 23 points in the first quarter — the second quarter turned the tide. Central Christian managed only 9 points in the second, while Mid-America Christian surged ahead with 22. By halftime the Evangels carried a commanding lead.

On offense, the Tigers struggled with consistency. Their overall shooting ended at 38.5%, with 20 of 52 from the field and 12 of 28 from three. Attempts to regain momentum in the second half fell short.

Still, there were bright spots. Charmayne Marshall led CCCK with 21 points — going 7-of-16 overall and nailing 7 of her 14 three-point attempts. While Kylee Jones added 12 points and helped keep the Tigers competitive in stretches.

Defensively and on the glass, CCCK didn't get enough stops or second-chance opportunities. Meanwhile, Mid-America Christian built a sizeable edge in rebounding and converted repeatedly when given chances — the difference in execution and consistency became more pronounced as the game wore on.

With the loss, the Tigers move to 4-6, 0-4 on the year. The Tigers are back home on Saturday as they welcome the Drovers of USAO to Jerry E. Alexander Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm. The game will be broadcast on the Urban Edge Network and the SAC Sports Network.
