Hesston, Kan. - Central Christian College of Kansas Men's Basketball earned one of its most complete performances of the season on Thursday night, powering past Hesston College 105–63 on the road. The win showcased efficiency, depth, and defensive discipline—but the night belonged to point guard Chris Whitten, who surpassed 1,500 career points during his 23-point outing.
The Tigers came out fast, shooting over 54 percent from the field and knocking down 10 threes while holding the Larks to just 36.7 percent overall. Central set the tone early with strong ball movement and relentless pace, building a 53–33 halftime lead and never looking back. Their defensive pressure created 21 points off turnovers, and the team dominated the glass with 49 total rebounds.
Whitten's milestone came in vintage fashion. The senior floor general was efficient all night, going 9-for-15 from the field and 4-for-7 from deep while adding 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. His early buckets helped spark the Tigers' first-half surge, and his steady control of the offense guided Central to its highest scoring output of the season.
Around him, the supporting cast delivered. The Tigers' bench contributed 39 points, and multiple players reached double figures as Central executed cleanly in transition and in the half-court. By the midpoint of the second half, the lead had stretched past 40, allowing the Tigers to finish the night comfortably.
The victory moves Central to 5–1 on the season and provides momentum heading into conference play. Whitten's 1,500-point milestone adds a meaningful chapter to his career—an achievement built on consistency, leadership, and a growing legacy within the program. The Tigers now turn their attention to Texas Wesleyan as they head down to Fort Worth to face the Rams to open SAC play. The game will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network at 7:45PM on Nov. 20th.
