Tigers Bounce Back With Road Win at Manhattan Christian

McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas women's basketball team returned to the win column Tuesday night, earning a 49–32 victory over Manhattan Christian behind a balanced effort on the glass and a strong defensive performance. This is the earliest a Tiger team has reached 3 wins since the 2008-09 season, when the Tigers defeated Rhema Bible College 76-43 on November 6th, 2008.

The Tigers (3–2) controlled the game early, jumping out to an 18–7 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back. Despite some cold shooting stretches in the middle frames, Central Christian's defense held the Thunder to just 17.7% shooting from the field for the game.

Chloe Clevenger nearly posted another double-double, finishing with 11 points, 9 rebounds, while knocking down three triples. Cristina Laudan anchored the paint with 10 rebounds and 5 points, while Charmayne Marshall filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

C'Niyah Williams added a spark off the bench with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Kylee Jones chipped in 9 points and 3 assists, while the Tigers finished with a 45–41 rebounding edge and 10 team steals.

Central Christian limited Manhattan Christian to single digits in all four quarters, including just 7 points in the opening frame, while holding the Thunder to 2-of-16 from beyond the arc.

The win caps a strong defensive showing for the Tigers, who have now held back-to-back opponents under 35% shooting.

The Tigers move to 3-2 on the year as they continue their non-conference schedule when they travel to Hesston College to take on the Larks on Friday night.
