The Central Christian College women's volleyball team closed out its final road stretch of the season this past weekend, taking on two tough SAC opponents in College of the Ozarks and John Brown University. Despite dropping both matches in straight sets, the Tigers showed grit, flashes of improvement, and continued growth as they ended their 2025 campaign.
Friday night's matchup in Point Lookout, Missouri, saw Central take on a strong College of the Ozarks team. The Tigers battled early in the opening set, keeping things tight before the Bobcats found their rhythm and pulled away for a 25-18 win. Central continued to fight but couldn't find enough consistency on offense, falling 25-15 and 25-15 in the next two sets to complete the sweep.
Setter Maddie Nix directed the offense with 19 assists while spreading the ball around to multiple hitters. Senior Alysen Harris and freshman Dylan Smith led the attack, combining for several key kills, while the back row continued to hold steady with solid defensive play. Nix and Senior Sarah Replogle each recorded double-digit digs, helping Central stay active against a potent Bobcat offense.
The Tigers turned around quickly for a Saturday afternoon match at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Central came out more composed, pushing the Eagles in the first and third sets before ultimately falling 25-21, 25-15, 25-20.
Once again, Nix ran the offense efficiently, tallying 20 assists, while Smith paced the team with seven kills and added two aces from the service line. Harris led the defensive effort with 11 digs, and Replogle added eight as the Tigers hustled through long rallies against a sharp-hitting John Brown squad..
The Tigers finish 2025 with a record of 4-24 (2-20 SAC) and look to build from their experiences this year and gain momentum for next year.
