McPherson, Kan. - The Central Christian College of Kansas women's soccer team closed out its 2025 season on Friday afternoon, falling 3–0 to a talented Oklahoma City University squad at home.
Despite the scoreline, the Tigers showed grit and determination throughout the contest, highlighted by an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Macy Clements, who recorded nine saves while facing an onslaught of 31 shots from the visiting Stars.
Oklahoma City (13-2-2, 6-2-1 SAC) struck early when Chloi Thurman scored in the seventh minute off a feed from Kayleigh Haygood. The Stars doubled their lead midway through the first half on an unassisted goal from Piper Nichols, then added their third in the 59th minute as Nichols netted her second of the day with help from Abby Russell.
The Tigers (3-13-2, 1-8 SAC) struggled to create consistent chances in the attacking third but found some momentum late, tallying three shots in the second half and earning multiple corner kicks to apply pressure down the stretch.
Freshman Mathea Solgaard and Sophomore Makhaya Smith each registered a shot for Central Christian, while Clements even added a shot on goal late in the match as the Tigers pushed numbers forward.
With the result, Central Christian concludes its 2025 campaign with a 3-12-2 overall record and a 1-8 mark in SAC play. The Tigers will now turn their attention toward the offseason, aiming to return stronger and more experienced next fall.
