McPHERSON, Kan. — The Central Christian College of Kansas men's soccer team wrapped up its 2025 campaign on Friday afternoon, falling 4–1 to Oklahoma City University in a hard-fought match at home.
The Tigers showed strong second-half energy, creating 11 of their 13 total shots after halftime and finding the back of the net late behind Genis Alcaide's goal in the 89th minute, assisted by Parker Horton.
Oklahoma City (11-3-4, 5-0-4 SAC) jumped out to an early lead with three first-half goals, including strikes from Ethan Taylor, Harrison Knight, and Francisco Miquel. The Stars extended their advantage in the 49th minute through Juan Erazo before Central Christian (2-11-4, 2-5-2 SAC) clawed one back in the final moments.
Despite facing relentless pressure from OCU's attack, goalkeeper Nawjot Bhandal kept the Tigers in contention, recording four saves while facing 20 shots. Offensively, Central Christian generated several promising looks in the second half — led by Sidney Tippner, Boston Peterson, and Kaspar Engelmann, who each helped drive the Tigers' late push.
The loss ultimately dropped the Tigers to the 9 seed and ousted them from the SAC Conference Tournament.
The Tigers will now turn attention toward offseason development and preparing for the 2026 campaign.
