Tigers Struggle in Series Against USAO

McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College Tigers Baseball team was back in action against the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma Drovers for a three game weekend series. A doubleheader on Friday followed by a single nine inning game on Saturday. The Tigers come back home after four straight road games.
The first game of the series saw Cole Hancock get the start for the Tigers. USAO would attack early putting up four runs in the second inning. The Drovers would continue to stay on the offensive as they would break out for nine runs total in the game. Meanwhile, the Tigers struggled to get their bats going. The only source of offense came in the seventh inning in the form of a solo homerun.
The Tigers hoped to turn the tide in game two as Peyton Ramsey got the nod for Central. The Drover offense got to Ramsey early as they tagged him for a run in the 2nd and three in the 3rd. Ramsey would settle in through the fourth and fifth but in the sixth, USAO found some more life as they pushed across six runs on six hits in the inning. Tristan Castner would come in to relieve Ramsey and finish out the game on the mound for the Tigers.
The Tigers looked to take the series finale on Saturday as Robert White made his first career start. The Drover bats woke up early, putting up seven runs as White would not make it out of the first inning. The Tigers would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first. USAO would strike back with an eight-run top of the third inning to make the score 16-4. Things unfortunately got out of hand for the Tigers in the seventh inning where they allowed 10 runs to increase the Drover lead to 27-6. The Drovers would take the game by this score and as a result would take the series from the Tigers.
