Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Tigers Fall to Jamestown and Dordt

McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College Men's Volleyball team hosted Jamestown and Dordt for a pair of Great Plains Athletic Conference matchups this weekend. Friday, the Tigers hosted the #12 ranked University of Jamestown Jimmies.
The Tigers got off to a slow start as they allowed the Jimmies to make a couple runs that put them in an early hole. The Tigers would drop the first set 25-10. The next set, the Tigers made some adjustments but the Jimmies were ready as they opened the second set on a 6-2 run. After trading a few points, the Tigers would see their deficit lessen to only two. However, a Jamestown run of seven straight points would halt any momentum the Tigers had gained. The Tigers would go on to drop the second set 25-14. Starting off the third set, the Jimmies picked up where they left off. Leading 17-7 in the third set, the Tigers found some life after a few Jimmie attack errors and an ace, the Tigers cut the lead to just five. Jamestown would ultimately win the third set 25-17 to take the match in straight sets.
Saturday hoped to be a different story for the Tigers as they faced Dordt University. The Defenders got off to a hot start in the first set, going on a dominant 18-2 run. The Tigers fought back but the Defenders would take the first set 25-8. The second set saw multiple runs by each team but Dordt would again take the second set from the Tigers this time 25-14. In the third set, the Tigers built up some momentum scoring four straight points two separate times in the set. The Defenders would fend off the Tigers to win the third set 25-18 and win the match 3-0.
