Sterling, Kan. – The Central Christian College softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games on the road Tuesday to the Sterling College Warriors.
The Tigers fell in game one, 7-2. The Warriors led 7-0 before the Tigers finally got on the board with a solo run in the sixth, and another in the seventh.
In the second game, the Tigers found themselves in a 3-0 hole after the first inning, but responded with 5 runs in the top of the second to take their first lead of the series. In the bottom of the third, the Warriors put up three more to retake the lead 6-5. In the top of the fifth, the Tigers put up three of their own to take an 8-6 lead, but the Warriors scored one in the sixth, and then walked it off with two in the seventh to win 9-8.

Hitting: The Tigers scored two runs on six hits, all of them singles.
Paige Major was the only Tiger to record multiple hits. She went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Pitching: Madalyn Griffin got the start for the Tigers. She pitched the first three and a third, allowing three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Cheslie Hirtler came out of the bullpen and worked the final two and two-thirds, giving up four runs on two hits with two strikeouts and three walks. Griffin was ultimately collared with the loss.

Game 2: L, 9-8
Hitting: The Tigers scored 8 runs eight hits.
Paige Major again led the team with a 2 for 4 performance, this time with three RBI.
Pitching: Kayla Voss got the start in the circle for the Tigers. She worked the first five innings allowing seven runs, but only four of the earned, with one strikeout and a pair of walks.
Sara Lynch came on in relief of Voss in the sixth inning. She allowed two runs on three hits with one strikeout and one walk and was saddled with the loss.
