Siloam Springs, Ark. - In a tough matchup on Thursday night, the Central Christian College Tigers were defeated by the John Brown University Golden Eagles, 81-40. The loss drops the Tigers' record to 2-10 on the season.
The Golden Eagles came out strong, quickly establishing control of the game. By the end of the first quarter, they had built a commanding 27-9 lead, thanks to their efficient shooting and strong defensive play. John Brown shot 49% from the field compared to Central's 25%, making it a challenging night for the Tigers.
Chloe Clevenger led Central Christian in scoring with 15 points, while
Charmayne Marshall contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Amanda Dotter added 4 points and grabbed a team high 9 rebounds in the losing effort. Despite their best efforts, the Tigers were outpaced by the Golden Eagles' fast break game, where they were outscored 18-0 in fast break points.
Clevenger also recorded 3 assists, but the Tigers struggled to find consistent offensive rhythm, while John Brown's offense continued to roll. The Golden Eagles' balanced attack and defensive pressure were too much for Central Christian to overcome.
