Coach Hoxie summed up the win saying, "Today was a nice little turn up before we get into conference play. Got lots of guys some burn and we saw the ball go into the back of the net, which is always a psychological booster. Credit to MCC for their hard work and positive attitude. The relationship that we've built with them over the last decade has been fruitful, and it's a pleasure to work with those guys every season."
Hoxie went on to add, "That was my 100th win here as a Tiger. That just means I've been here a long time! That being said, I want to point out that Coach Matt [Malone] deserves all the appreciation. He's been with me for 88 of those wins, both as a player, and assistant. I'm fortunate to have shared these moments with him. Blessed to have these moments of my life with him. Lastly, it represents all of the players that have played for me during this time. Many thanks to all of you, you are deserving."
"Now...the time has come."
The win pushed the Tigers' record to 5-0-2 for the year. Next up is the start of the Sooner Athletic Conference portion of the schedule. Out of the gate, the Tigers will get the best of the SAC. They will host Mid-America Christian University, currently ranked #1 in the NAIA, at 3:00 pm on Tuesday.
