Tigers Wrap up Home Tournament

McPherson, Kan. – Coming off their first win in program history on Wednesday evening, the Central Christian College men's volleyball team wrapped up their "classic" on Thursday with a pair of matches against Mount Mercy University (Iowa), and Cumberland University (Tenn.).

The Tigers opened the day against the Mount Mercy Mustangs in the 2:00 match, falling in straight sets, 25-6, 25-8, 25-17.

By the Numbers

Against the Mustangs, the Tigers hit -.175 with 12 kills on 57 swings with 22 errors.

They assisted on 10 of their 12 kills.

Defensively, they were credited with 8 digs and 2 blocks.

In the final game of the two day "classic", the Tigers took on the Cumberland University Phoenix, a quality program that lost their opening match of the day in five sets to nationally ranked University of Jamestown.

The Tigers played well against the Phoenix but were swept 25-18, 25-11, 25-20.

Against the Phoenix, the Tigers hit -.013 with 14 kills on 77 swings with 15 errors.

They assisted on 13 of their 44 kills.

Defensively, they were credited with 25 digs and three blocks.

The Tigers will be back on the hardwood next Tuesday evening when they go on the road and take on the NAIA's 5th ranked team, the Park University Pirates, in Parkville, Missouri. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
