Lindsborg, Kan. – The Central Christian College baseball team was on the road Tuesday afternoon for a non-conference match-up with the Bethany College Swedes. It was a good game, but the Tigers ultimately came out on the short end of a 6-4 decision.
The Tigers got on the board first with two runs in the top of the first, but a half an inning later, surrendered the lead when the Swedes put up three in their half of the first. In the top of the second, the Tigers answered again, tying the game when JT Taylor scored from third on a wild pitch.
The third inning was scoreless but the Swedes retook the lead 4-3 with a run in the bottom of the fourth. The Tigers tied the game again in the seventh inning when Taylor scored again, this time on a ground out by
Jace Phillips.
The Swedes once again retook the lead in their half of the seventh, then added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth. The Tigers were unable to find a way to push runs across the plate in their final two at bats leaving the score at 6-4 in favor of the home side.
