Lindsborg, Kan. – After inclement weather postponed two series this past weekend, the Central Christian College softball team was finally able to get back on the field Tuesday for a double header on the road at Bethany College.
After struggling at the plate in their first two games of the season against Sterling College last week, the Tigers got their offense going against the Swedes on Tuesday. The Tigers earned a split with the Swedes, dropping the series opener, but bouncing back in the finale to earn their first win of the season.
Game 1: L, 12-9
Hitting: The Tigers scored nine runs in game one, on six hits that included four singles, a double, and a home run.
Pitching: Madalyn Griffin, and
Miranda Tegtmeier saw action inside the circle for the Tigers in game one. Griffin got the start and went two and a third, allowing seven runs on six hits with five walks and no strikeouts. Tegtmeier went the final three and two-thirds giving up five runs on eight hits with one walk and no strikeouts.

The Tigers kept their offense going in game two, picking up their first win of the season.
Hitting: The Tigers pushed across seven runs on six hits, led by a 2 for 3 performance from
Halee Wallin that included a double and 3 RBI.
Pitching: Sara Lynch and
Madalyn Griffin combined to secure the win in the circle for the Tigers. Lynch went five strong allowing three runs on five hits, with four strikeouts and three walks. Griffin bounced back from her tough start in game one to throw two hitless and scoreless innings.

Next Up: The Tigers are back on the diamond on Wednesday afternoon, making up the games with Bethel College that were supposed to be played on Saturday. The Tigers will travel to North Newton, Kansas for a double header beginning at 4:00 pm.
