Sioux Center, Iowa – The Central Christian College men's volleyball team opened up their 2023 campaign this past weekend, on the road in Iowa and North Dakota. The Tigers had the unenviable task of starting out the season against the top two teams in the GPAC conference.
The Tigers opened up on Thursday at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Tigers were upended by the Defenders 25-10, 25-5, 25-15.
On Saturday, the Tigers travelled even further north, going to Jamestown, N.D. to take on nationally ranked Jamestown University. The Jimmies were 10
th in the NAIA's preseason poll. The Jimmies were sharp, defeating the Tigers in straight sets, 25-14, 25-10, 25-18.
By the Numbers
Against the Defenders in the season opener, the Tigers hit -.171 with 6 kills on 51 swings with 15 errors.
They assisted on all 5 of their 6 kills.
Defensively, they were credited with 19 digs and 2 blocks.
In the match against the Jimmies, the Tigers were a little better offensively. They hit -.021 with 11 kills on 48 attempts with 12 errors.

The Tigers are back on the hardwood on Wednesday evening, traveling north again, this time on a much shorter trip. They will head to Salina, Kansas for a triangular with Missouri Valley College and Kansas Wesleyan University. They will take on Missouri Valley at 6:00 pm and KWU at 8:00 pm.
