McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College women's basketball team fell to 0-3 in conference play, falling on Saturday at home to the University of North Texas at Dallas Trailblazers 89-62.
It wasn't the best night offensively, but it certainly wasn't their worst game shooting the ball. The problem was that every time the Tigers hit a big three pointer and start to build momentum, the Trailblazers answered with a big shot of their own. The Tiger women just couldn't keep pace with the scoring by UNTD.
The Tigers trailed 28-14 at the end of the first quarter, and by the end of the first half, the deficit had grown to 16 points, 48-32. After the intermission, the Tigers continued to hang around, but they couldn't make up any ground. The Trailblazers won the 3
rd period 19-16 to increase their lead to 19 points heading into the final 10 minutes.
The Tigers ran out of steam in the fourth, and the Trailblazers ran away with the quarter 22-14, making the final deficit 27 points.

Coaches Quote
"We did a lot of good things today, playing shorthanded I thought we played extremely hard! We executed but didn't finish at crucial times. We didn't turn the ball over terribly but we turned it over at crucial times! We need to keep working and getting better! Defense wasn't bad at times but we need to recognize a hot shooter and contain them, that's on me! Lots of things to learn from on this game! I truly believe we are headed in a good direction!"– Coach Willems
