Tigers Fall on the Road to Thunder

Manhattan, Kan. – The Central Christian College men's basketball team suffered another tough set back on Friday, going on the road against Manhattan Christian College, and falling to the thunder 78-74.

The Tigers had defeated the Thunder by 20 points six days prior in McPherson, but they were much more formidable on their home floor in Manhattan. The Tigers led for the majority of the game, taking a 45-41 advantage into the break at halftime.

Out of the break, they led fort the first 14 minutes of the second half. The Thunder took their first lead at the 6:08 mark 70-67. The Tigers would not regain the lead again the rest of the way.

For the second game in a row, the Tigers struggled to hit shots from deep. Against the Thunder they made just 2 of 11 (18%) from beyond the three point line.

For the game, the Tigers finished by making 24 of 52 (46%) of their attempts from the floor.

From the charity stripe they went 19 of 21 (63%).

Four Tigers scored in double figures led by Malachi Farr with 17. Andre Shelby had a double double with 10 points and 10 boards.

The Tigers lost the turnover battle 12 to 13, but were even on the glass with 37.

The Tigers (2-3), have a pair of exhibition games against NCAA DII teams in the next eight days before returning to regular season action. On Monday they will be at Missouri Southern State University, and then next Tuesday the 21st, they will be at Fort Hays State University.
