McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian Women's Volleyball team was in action on Friday and Saturday as they faced Texas Wesleyan on Friday and Southwestern Assemblies of God on Saturday. Homecoming weekend kicked off with the Volleyball game Friday night against Texas Wesleyan who came into the game at the top of the Sooner Athletic Conference.

The first set was back and forth until the Rams won six straight points to make it 21-15. Central put up a fight but would not be able to overcome the deficit, dropping the first set 17-25. The Rams continued their attack as they opened the second set with a 6-2 run. The Tigers could not get anything going as Texas Wesleyan dominated the net stretching their lead to 23-14 before the Tigers attempted to mount a comeback by going on a run of winning 3 straight points to cut their deficit to 23-17. The Rams would win the next two points to win the set 25-17. With a 2-0 lead in the match, the Rams stayed on the offensive by winning the first 4 points of the third set. After a back-and-forth battle and the set even at 16-16, the Rams went on a 7-1 run and would eventually take the set 25-19 to win the match in straight sets.

With a quick turnaround Saturday morning, the Tigers looked to bounce back against SAGU. The offensive struggles for the Tigers continued with the Lions taking advantage of this in the form of an 11-4 lead early in the first set. Riding this momentum, SAGU would take the first set 25-16. The second set started off with each team battling and the set being tied 6-6. SAGU would go on a 6-0 run for a 12-6 lead in the set. The Lions would use another 6-0 run later in the set for a 20-10 lead. The Lions would go on to win the second set 25-12 to go up 2-0 in the match. The third set was all SAGU as their attacks were too much for the Tigers as they won the third set 25-8 and win the match 3-0.
