Spivey with a Big Night in Loss to JBU

Siloam Springs, Ark. – The Central Christian College men's basketball team went on the road Thursday night to play the John Brown University Golden Eagles. The Tigers ended up on the losing end of a 78-52 decision.

For the second game in a row, the Tigers came out flat offensively. This time they were only able to score 21 points in the opening half, and ended up trailing the Golden Eagles by 15 at the break, 36-21.

In the second half they found a few more ways to score, but so did JBU. The home team out-scored the Tigers 42-31 in the final 20 minutes to win by 26.

By the Numbers

It was another tough shooting night for the Tigers. They made 18 of 60 (30%) from the floor, and were just 4 of 20 (20%) from deep.

At the free throw line they were 12 of 16 (75%) for the game.

Turnovers were also an issue for the Tigers. They coughed it up 18 times, while JBU limited their miscues to 8.

Neither team had a decided advantage on the boards as rebounds were even at 46.

Jamir Spivey had a big night for the Tigers with a double double. He scored 15 points and grabbed a season high 24 rebounds.
