OKLAHOMA CITY, OK

On this Saturday evening, the Tigers went into the Abe Lemons Arena in Oklahoma City, OK, to continue their success they were carrying over the last few games. This time, the Oklahoma City University Stars were the opponents for the 2022 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals, who not only were more rested than the already fatigued Tigers, but also their last game was a thrilling 103-102 victory over the NAIA's 10th best team in the nation, the USAO Drovers. The rested Stars proved to be too much for Coach Romero's team, beating them by an uneven margin of 85-56.

Since the offensive side had a very low field goal percentage (26.9% FG), which has been a season-long woe for this team, the Tigers performance was a very defensive-oriented one, mostly due to the aforementioned circumstance rather than the game plan being devised as such. The main performers on that aspect for our Tigers were: Andre Shelby with 13 rebounds and 2 blocks, Darrell Bryant with 9 rebounds and 3 turnovers, Malachi Farr with 8 rebounds, and Demario Moore with 7 rebounds, who also scored 21 points from the bench.

On the winning side, the Stars main performers were Rashaun Coleman (22 PTS, 4 REB, 7 A, 31 MIN), Ryan Birt (13 PTS, 6 REB, 3 A, 29 MIN), Kori Guest (13 PTS, 2 BLK, 25 MIN), Romario Spence (12 PTS, 10 REB, 4 STL, 29 MIN), and Dadrian Hoambrecker (11 PTS, 6 REB, 15 MIN).

This is not the end of the Central Christian College Tigers' 2021-22 season. They still have the chance of winning the NCCAA Central Regional Tournament, which will be against the Southwestern Christian University Eagles at the Jerry Alexander Arena. If they do win this final game, they will be going to the NCCAA National Tournament at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. Let's go Tigers! This is not the end.
