Bethany, Okla. – The Central Christian College women's basketball team opened up Sooner Athletic Conference play on Thursday night with 61-42 loss, on the road to the Southwestern Christian University Eagles.
The Tigers struggled to get their offense going in the first half, scoring just 13 points in the first 20 minutes of action. They went into the intermission trailing 36-13.
In the second half, the Tigers started to get things rolling with their offense. They outscored the Eagles in the final two quarters, 29-25, but unfortunately couldn't overcome the first half deficit.
By the Numbers
Despite a disastrous first quarter where they only shot 8% from the floor, the Tigers bounced back in the other three quarters to finish shooting 31%, making 16 of 52 attempts.
The Tigers made 6 of 24 (25%) of their attempts from beyond the three point arc.
They were 4 of 6 (66%) from the free throw line.
The Tigers lost the turnover battle 22 to 16, and the rebounding battle 46 to 28.
