Hillsboro, Kan. – The Central Christian College women's basketball team lost a tough one on Friday afternoon, playing the Bellevue University Bruins on day one of the Tabor Classic hosted by the Tabor College Bluejays. The Bruins defeated the Tigers 89-54.
For the second game in a row, the Tigers struggled to get their offense going. Against the Bruins they scored over 15 points in only one of the four quarters. The Tigers got down 27-13 at the end of the first quarter, and by the end of the half, the deficit was 24 points, 49-25.
After the break, both teams struggled to make baskets in the third quarter. The Bruins won the period by a slim 13-11 margin extending their lead to 26 points, 62-36. The Tigers had their best offensive output in the final period, scoring 18 points, but they couldn't stop the Bruins, who added 27 more points to make the winning margin 35 points.
