Fort Worth, Texas – It was a tough night for the Central Christian College men's soccer team, falling on the road 2-0 to the Texas Wesleyan University Rams.

The Tigers and Rams were relatively even on the score card with the Rams having a slight advantage in total shots 16 to 14 an in shots on goal 7 to 6. All of the scoring took place in the second half. The Rams got on the board in the 65th minute on a penalty kick, the third called against the Tigers this season. The Rams then added an insurance goal with just seconds remaining in the game.

Sebastian Herrera was in goal for the Tigers and was collared with the loss. He faced down seven shots on goal, turning away five of them.

Coach Hoxie summed up the loss saying, "Tough result for us to take because we could and should have been up 2 or 3 nil at half. Even into the second half we were in full control of the match. But we continue to get unlucky and concede dumb penalties or are unlucky when they are called against us in critical moments to lose games. Today was as predicted with the team who scored first would win it. We worked hard. We competed. The standard was there. I was happy with the effort, although, we did fatigue in the second half, which was my fault as I decided to tighten the subbing pattern. I felt like we did enough to win the game over 90 minutes.  However, as is often times in this sport, it's a cruel game from a certain perspective, and things go the way they go. We'll need to bounce back as soon as possible because we've got a desperate team on Saturday. We can't let down our guard with this quick turn around."

The loss drops the Tigers to 8-5-4 overall, and 2-4-2 overall. They will wrap up the regular season on Saturday in a 1:00 pm match-up with the SAGU Lions down in Waxahachie, Texas.
