The Central Christian Lady Tigers despite being out of the gym the past few weeks due to injury, and illness still managed to come together as a team and give a hard fought effort that coach
Matt Barreiro was proud of. Barreiro stated after the game, "The fact we have been unable to practice and field a team at times as of late, and still come out today and excel in several aspects during the game is a tremendous boost, and credit to the ladies on this team."
The Lady Tigers held the Lions to just 31% shooting from the floor, and nearly 20 points below their yearly scoring average.
Destiny Broussard came out on fire for the tigers hitting her first four field goals from the floor, and led all Lady Tigers in scoring with 12. On the defensive side the Tigers continue to improve, and attack the boards. Point guard
Josie Warren led the way with 9 defensive rebounds, never once shying away from a chance to mix it up in the paint.
The team, even though having faced adversity as of late have continued to pull together and rely on one another. Barreiro said, "Defensively we are getting better, offensively we need to continue to work on consistency, and then we need to piece those together."
Next up for the Lady Tigers is a road game on January 20
th in Oklahoma City, OK, against the Stars of Oklahoma City University.
