Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tigers lose another one goal game, in heartbreaking fashion to Central Baptist College Mustangs.

Conway, AR - From the Tigers perspective the game did not start as planned. CBC were the better team with the ball and were able to play through the pressure. But it was the Tigers with the best opportunity, with a 1 v 1 but the shot went past the bar. Right after that the game would be suspended due to lightning.

Coming out of the break, the game would resume in similar fashion. CBC had the ball but were unable to do anything with it. The Tigers were comfortable With proceedings and were just seeing the situation out.

"Rough start to the game for us. We really struggled on the ball and our decision making was poor to say the least. Despite all of this, we were the ones that looked like scoring as our attack was still producing chances." Hoxie added.

The second half was a different affair as the Tigers were the one in control of the match. Their pressure was causing CBC problems and as a result they were better on the ball, moving it around. The chances were coming and the sense was that it was only a matter of time before the Tigers would make good.

Hoxie commented, "Hard to see us not getting two or even three during this phase of the game. Their GK made some saves, we missed some easier chances, and had another one cleared off the line. We are literally doing it right, just can't seem to find a final product."

As luck would have it, it wasn't the Tigers and all of their chances that would be first off the block. With a minute on the clock, the Mustangs would pick up a loose ball and rocket one into the top corner. A total surprise that came out of no where it seems, but it counts all the same. The game would come to its fiery conclusion moments later with the Tigers taking a heartbreaking loss at the death.

"The game was destined for 0-0. That strike was a worldie and 1/100…so disheartening to not win that game, or at least come out with a point. We clearly deserved something from it based on the quality of clear cut chances. Ah well…time to move on from this." Hoxie concluded.

The Tigers travel Tuesday to Moore, Ok, for a 1pm KO at Randall University.
