Lady Tigers continue to show improvement in matchup against Southwestern Christian

BETHANY, Oklahoma – Tigers travel to Oklahoma to take on the Eagles of Southwestern Christian in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Katirya Vergara made her Tiger debut in this match and led all hitters with 15 kills with 7 errors on 40 attempts. Teammates Aijha Sampsell would add an additional 9 kills and Zola Moore would add 6 more to lead the Tigers. Setters McKenzee Cook and Laykin Harkcom would have a productive night combining for 36 assist out of the 41 total kills. Jacque Freeman, Katirya Vergara, and Jayleana Williams-Johnson would account for 42 of the 61 digs.

Set One – The Tigers wouldn't get the offense rolling as they could only account for 4 kills, while the Eagles would account for 14 kills and they took the 1st set 25-14.
Set Two – The Tigers would have a productive set and keep the match close, despite outhitting the Eagles 14-10 in kills the Eagles would edge out set 2 25-21 to take a 2-0 lead to start the match.
Set Three – The closest set of the entire match was a back and forth affair, but this time the Tigers come through to close out the match and take the 3rd set to force another one.
Set Four – Tigers and Eagles keep it close to start the set, but the Eagles go on a mid-set rally and put themselves out of reach of the Tigers and the comeback comes up just short.
