Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Lady Tigers compete at the Thunder Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kansas – After opening the season against Bethel College on Aug.25th the Tigers headed up to Manhattan to compete in the tournament with Manhattan Christian, Sterling College, & Cottey College.

Tigers would open the tournament against Cottey College and York College on day one. Then Sterling College and Manhattan Christian on day two.

Tigers would struggle the first couple of games due to a limited roster in which they would be swept in their first three games before taking on tournament host Manhattan Christian. However, the Lady Tigers would save their best performance for the tournament finale.

Despite dropping the first two sets of game four and looking to go home empty handed the Tigers would bounce back in set 3 and win 25-17 to force the first 4th set of the year. The Tigers and Thunder would have another close dual in the 4th and the Tigers come up just short of going to the deciding 5th set 25-22.

Upcoming Schedule
Tigers will be traveling to Wayland Baptist on Sept. 3rd @ 7:00 p.m. as they will being Sooner Athletic Conference play.

Central Christian Quote
Head Women's Volleyball Coach Rick Hughes:
"This weekend we saw some incredible growth in our team. We got to see our players invest in each other and come together as a group. Even though we ran several different lineups, the Tigers persevered by communicating and work hard through adversity. The team's best match was with Manhattan Christian College where they took a set from MCC and played at their best tempo on the weekend. Looking forward to our 1st conference matches of the season this weekend the team looks ready to compete!"
