OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference highlighted academic accomplishments throughout the league by naming 73 squads SAC scholar teams sponsored by Barnes & Noble College.
SAC scholar team awards go to those teams competing in conference-sponsored sports which combine for a 3.0 grade-point average over the previous year.
Mid-America Christian's women's soccer team boasted of the top GPA of any SAC team (3.78). Nine softball and volleyball teams took the honor to pace the league.
Oklahoma City University reeled in a league-high 13 SAC scholar team accolades, while Wayland Baptist landed 12. Oklahoma City had five teams who had the best GPA among their respective sports.
