McPherson, KS – Tigers traveled down to Oklahoma City to complete their 4 game series against the OCU Stars on Friday. The Lady Tigers would then head back home on Saturday to complete their season series against the Bacone Warriors.
After dropping both games against the Stars (10-0, 8-0) the Tigers focused on the non-conference opponent, Bacone Warriors to end their 5 game skid.
Lady Tigers would explode for their most runs scored on the season with 20 runs. The Tigers would put up 10 runs in both the 1
st and 2
nd inning to take game one easily from the Warriors 20-2 after 5 innings.
Hannah Hoffman would have a complete game going 5.0 innings, yielding 2 runs on 4 hits. Hoffman would have a complete game going into the top of the 5
th inning until the Warriors were able to string together some singles and break the perfect game and the no-hitter.
Haley Lewis would lead the Tigers with 5 RBI's going 2-5 including a homerun.
Taylor Bourne and
Hannah Hoffman would both collect 4 RBI's each, with 4 hits collectively. Overall the Tigers would have 20 runs on 15 hits with 2 Homeruns, 2 Doubles, and 6 stolen bases.
Take the season series lead 2-1 over the Warriors the Tigers would enter game two of the double header with hopes to take the season series 3-1.
Tigers would be able to get ahead in the 2
nd with the game's first run, but the warriors would respond with a 5 spot in the 3
rd inning. The Lady Tigers would respond with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 5-3. The Tigers would strike again in the bottom of the 5
th and scored 3 runs to retake the lead 6-5 heading to the 6
th. Bacone would once again explode for 5 runs in the inning to put the Tigers in a 4 run deficit 10-6. Showing signs of life, the Tigers responded with 2 runs in the bottom to put themselves back into striking distance at 10-8. Warriors would score 3 runs in the top of the 7
th thanks to some errors and add some insurance runs to their lead 13-8. Tigers wouldn't be able to complete the comeback and dropped the game 13-8 and split the double header 2-2.
Tigers move to 11-25, 4-18 SAC and will host Sterling College in a double header on April 14
th, before going back to conference on April 16
th against MACU.

"Our bats were on fire in game 1. Everything was working for us. Hannah did a great job in the circle making her defense make the easy plays to win in 5 innings. I thought our bats helped us make it close game in game 2. We had a few miscues that we couldn't come back from. We will regroup and prepare for next week games.
