Oklahoma City, OK – The Lady Tigers would enter the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament as the #7 seed and would take on the #2 Evangels in the SAC opening round.
The Tigers and Evangels first meeting in early March would be a close knit game that resulted in a 1-0 loss at home for the Tigers. This time the stakes would be higher as winner of this match would continue playing for the conference championship and the other would be going home.
The Lady Tigers were able to honor
Alexa Riddle as she won 2
nd Team All-SAC for her performance on the season. Riddle would go on to score the Tigers lone goal on the night to conclude her season total with an impressive 19 goals.
MACU would get off to a hot start in the first half, scoring 3 unanswered goals in the first half. Tigers would show signs of life in the 2
nd half thanks to a Riddle goal off an assist from
Samantha Carachure. However, it would be a little to late and the Evangels would add another goal and the Tigers season was over.
Tigers conclude with a 8-10 overall record and 3-6 in conference play.

Head Coach
Cole Ouren:
"First, congratulations to MACU. They are a well coached and have consistently shown why they are one of the best teams in our conference and with them receiving national votes, in the country as well. We unfortunately did not perform well in the first half and the score was reflective. However, we played significantly better in the second and we were rewarded for our performance. We were unlucky to not get another and the 4 goal was off us pushing for a 2. Despite the score, the girls showed that they not just earned the right but deserved the opportunity to represent our institution in the conference tournament."
"Our goal was to qualify for the conference tournament and in doing so, ensure the game is not only fun to play, but to watch. We were able to accomplish both in the midst of another coaching transition for the majority of the team. To say that we are proud as a coaching staff is an understatement. We look forward for the girls to get some much needed rest and already have our sights set on next fall!"
Go Tigers!
