Waxahachie, TX – Lady Tigers would have a disappointing weekend in which the SAGU Lions would come away with all 4 wins against the Central Christian Tigers.
Day One
Lions would come out on top 8-0 in gm 1 and then in a tighter match would once again find themselves on top with a 7-4 gm 2 victory to open up the weekend.
Tigers batting over both games would go 2-21 (0.95 avg.) in game one and then 10-34 (.294 avg.) in game two for a total of 12-55 (.218 avg.) on the day.
Tigers pitching would go 5.1 innings, yielding 8 runs (7 earned) on 14 hits with a walk and strikeout in game one. Game two the Tigers pitching would go 6.0 innings, yielding 7 runs (2 earned) on 12 hits with a walk.
Tigers would end day one with a 3-5, 2-4 SAC record.
Day Two
Tigers would come out eager and try to sweep the Lions on this day to split the 4 game series. Game three would come down to the wire in a narrow 1-0 loss. With hopes to come away with one win on the weekend the Tigers would head into game four with a chip on their shoulder. The Tiger bats wouldn't be able to come alive, and the Lions would come out with a 6-0 shutout completing the series sweep.
Kayla Voss would have the Lady Tigers Highlight on the weekend. She would get the call to pitch the 3
rd game of the series and it would turn out to be quite the pitching duel. She would go 6.0 innings yielding 1 run, on 3 hits with one walk in what would turn out to be a disappointing 1-0 loss with the lone run coming in the 3
rd inning.
Tigers drop to 3-7, 2-6 SAC and will be back in action when they host TXWES on March 11
th and 12
th.
