McPherson, KS – Central Christian took on Kansas Christian in a non-conference warmup before they take on conference opponent Oklahoma City University in a three game series.
After a scoreless 1
st inning the Falcons would put three runs on the board to open the game with a 3-0 lead through 2 innings.
The Tigers offense would get be able to respond by stringing together a run in the 3
rd – 5
th inning to get tie the game 3-3. Despite giving up another run in the top of the 6
th, the Tigers would score in the bottom of the inning to grab their first lead of the game at 5-4.
The lead wouldn't last long for the Tigers, as the Falcons would score three runs in the top of the 7
th to retake the lead 8-5.
Falcons would pick up another insurance run in the 8
th to increase their lead to 4 runs with only 6 outs remaining for the Tigers to complete a comeback. Tigers would get one back in the 8
th to get the deficit down to 2. With their final three outs the Tigers would get a run across to get the game within one. The Falcons would retire two batters and the Tigers would get a runner in scoring positon. Down to their last out the Tigers would ground out to the 2
nd baseball and the game would end 8-7 Falcons.
Tigers lose a tough one to the Falcons and drop to 5-20-1 on the season. Tigers will turn around and prepare for a home series against the nationally ranked Stars.
