Coyle, OK – Lady Tigers take game one 9-3, and then turn around and take game two for the sweep 13-10 to bump up to 6
th in conference and snap their 10 game-skid.
Central Christian would have a healthy blend of offense and defense to take the series opener from the Lady Lions.
Hannah Hoffman would pitch a complete game and collect the game win going 7.0 innings, yielding three runs, on six hits with six walks and three strikeouts.
Tigers bats were in full force game one as they collected nine runs on twelve hits with eight RBI's and drew five walks. Four of the Tiger hits were be extra base including a HR, (2) 3B, and 2B. Tigers would be led by
Karina Flores (2-3, HR, 3 RBI's, R, and 2 BB's.),
Ashton Nelson (3-5, 3B, 3 R),
Hannah Hoffman (1-3, 3 RBI's) and
Altavia Hall (2-2, 2 BB's, R).
Game two would be a little closer of a contest and require the Tigers to use some offensive power to take this one.
After building a 12-2 lead through 5 innings the Lady Lions would score 3 runs in the bottom of the 5
th and 5 runs in the bottom of the 6
th to put the Lions back into striking distance (12-10) of the Tigers. Tigers would score an insurance run in the top of the 7
th to give a little bit more of a cushion and the Tigers defense would put up a goose egg in the 7
th to keep the score 13-10 and complete the series sweep over the Lions.
Lady Tigers improve to 5-11, 4-10 SAC and will take a week off from conference play and will take on KCAC opponent Friends University on March 25
th in a double header starting at 5:00 PM.
Central Christian Quotes
Head Coach
Aaron Annis
"Our bats were on fire this weekend. We were making solid contact all day.
Karina Flores and Jess Aldana each had a homerun today with runners on base. Our offense kept us in the game today. It took the whole team to win both and it was a great booster for our team as we were in a slump."
Go Tigers!
