LADY TIGERS SHUTOUT WAYLAND BAPTIST 2-0 ON SENIOR DAY

McPherson, KS – Lady Tigers extended their win streak to 2 games and climb up to 5th place in SAC standings after today's win.

Alexa Riddle would get the Tigers on the board after she would go on a breakaway from the one defender and win the 1v1 matchup against the goalie. Which brings her total to 4 goals in her previous 2 games. The 2nd goal for the Tigers would come from Alana Robinson who would score in the 2nd game in a row from well beyond the box right over the goalie's head.

After a great start to the game and a 2-0 lead at half the Tigers would find a different Pioneers that would come out in the 2nd half. The Pioneers would have 11 shots in the 2nd half to the Tigers 0. Despite the severe difference the Tigers would be able to hold off the Pioneers attack thanks to some clutch saves by both the Tigers back line and Goldie Bougher who would total 6 saves on 6 attempts to add another clean sheet to her record as a Tiger.

Tiger's improve to 7-6, 2-3 SAC and will try to extend their win streak to 3 games on March 16th when they host John Brown University.

Central Christian Quotes:

Head Coach Cole Ouren:

"We played a great first half on both sides of the ball. I was most pleased in our willingness to play out of pressure. We showed great deal of composure and confidence on the ball. It was an enjoyable brand of soccer. We unfortunately lost a little bit of a bite in the second half on the attacking side, as evident statically. However, it was a great defensive effort against a very good Wayland Baptist team as well as one of the best players in the conference with Fortune Kede."

"And a special thanks to seniors Clara Munger and Goldie Jones. They are great seniors that have added to the legacy of Central as well as the women's soccer program."

Go Tigers!
