Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

LADY TIGERS FIGHT TO THE END IN 79-72 LOSS TO PATRIOTS

McPherson, KS – Cheyenne Marshall goes for 19 points and Kassidy Forsberg collects another double-double (14-11) on their senior night performance. In a bitter-sweet end to the regular season Seniors Cheyenne Marshall and Kassidy Forsberg fight until the very end and for the last time will play in the Tiger uniform.

Patriots would put the Tigers in a sizable hole to begin the game as they would outscore the Ladies 23-10 thru 1Q. Tigers would show some resilience and be able to take a chunk of that deficit in the 2Q thanks to holding the Patriots to only 3 baskets in the period.

The 2nd half would be a battle with one team showing the advantage for a stretch then the other team battling back. Tigers would keep themselves within reach throughout the half, but couldn't quite get the game back to all square. Late in the 4th quarter the Tigers would get the game within a few possessions, but with time running out and the free throw shooting of the Patriots the time dwindled away and Tigers wouldn't be able to complete the comeback on Senior Night.

Tigers finish the regular season going 2-19 (0-13 SAC)

Central Christian Quotes:

Head Coach Marc Golden:

"Our slow start in the first quarter and fouling them, enough to put them on the free throw line 37 times was too much to come back from today"

"Our seniors were great today, the 19 points from Cheyenne Marshall along with the double-double from Kassidy Forsberg truly inspired the younger players to give everything they had tonight."

"People may forget many parts of this season, but they will not forget the way the Lady Tigers worked tonight. This is the hardest I have seen our ladies fight for something. I am so proud of their fearless pursuit and their refusal to give up."

Go Tigers!
